As You Begin...

Dear Friend,

It is pretty safe to assume that you are reading this booklet because you are considering home schooling your children. You realize that the first step to a successful home schooling experience is educating yourself. This short booklet will answer many of your first questions and help you answer that most important question, “Is home schooling the right choice for my family?” Some of the topics covered include: legalities, different approaches to home schooling, hints on choosing textbooks, record-keeping and grading, and tips for staying sane through this new adventure!

Home schooling is challenging for any parent. It involves sacrifices in time, effort, and money. It means shouldering responsibilities which most parents leave to the expertise of others. It means rekindling a delight in learning and becoming a student again. It also provides spiritual growth opportunities for the whole family as you learn to work closely together.

Therefore, because it is such a serious decision, I invite you to join me for a realistic look at both the blessings received and the commitment required to home school. The Lord bless you as you prayerfully consider this new challenge!
