David, you have made my day. I began it with reading a blog saying my book ought not to be read if one wanted a Christian story. Thank you for saying the story line is true to life. A writer tries to tell the truth so your words are a gift. I'm honored to be one of your three special authors. Warmly, Jane

What a thoughtful review, and by someone who really knows and loves history! I'm honored to count you among my new readers and grateful for the hours you invested in the lives of my characters. May the story continue to linger in your heart and mind until Mine Is the Night lands on your desk next Spring. Many blessings and MANY thanks!

I teach a Women's Bible Class and this book would be such a good book to teach from.

Terri,

Thank you for reading and responding to my blog comments. Sometimes blogging is kinda like the old "if a tree falls in the forrest...", and it's nice to know someone is reading.

Please be assured that I'm not suggesting we shouldn't contend for the faith. In fact, what I was trying to say is that our faith is validated (in spite of my occasional doubts and questions) by the appearance in history of Jesus. I don't pretend to understand on an intellectual level why there must be a blood sacrifice. I'm definitely not a theologian. And as I mentioned before the thought of eternity is terrifying to me on many levels, perhaps because it is just too huge a concept for my puny mind. That's the area God will have to sort out for me.

But this I can stand on: Jesus appeared at a real time and place in history and made claims that are totally outrageous at <em>any</em> time & place. Then He backed up those claims with power through His resurrection and through the lives of His followers.

<blockquote>"I Cor 15:3 For what I received I passed on to you as of first importance: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures, 5 and that he appeared to Peter, and then to the Twelve. 6 After that, he appeared to more than five hundred of the brothers at the same time, most of whom are still living, though some have fallen asleep. 7 Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles, 8 and last of all he appeared to me also, as to one abnormally born."</blockquote>
